MORE TO BE ADDED, Enjoy the plot for now.Plot:
"AD 1502, around the time of the Spainish first setting foot in South America, a cluster of Mayan sects concealed by endless mountain terrain had been left undisturbed for centuries. Each sect prays and offers to 8 different Demi-gods immortalized into stone effigy's. Those offers are the shedding of virgin blood in a vain effort to appease these believed spirits. A system unhinged, unbroken, even by the monarchy who has no qualms sending their own daughters to cast away their future. Brewing in the background, no one wanted they're familes destroyed by this custom, but temper the wrath of the gods they must.
In one sect, who's symbol animal is chosen as the Preying Mantis, a brother who's anger and resentiment festers daily decides to do the unthinkable - Stop a blood ritual in motion. After the accidental death of his sister during one of these ceremonies, this young man has been causing trouble, sprrading heresy against their so rightous system. This is the final straw, plucked by a damming deceleration made by this young man. To end the meaningless deaths of his sisterhood and down the old way guiding them them so long. It was a cry of change, portrayed in the most violating form. The young man, shouting at the Stone Effigy of the god "Yugaina", offers his life to it by sliting his throat and cutting his own head off. This starts a chain reaction the elders had nightmares of. The stone statue... Came alive. Alive with the will and ambition of the boy's mind and flesh. It's pyramid binding is shaken to the ground as the revived god soars above the ancient pastures of vast jungle.
Not far away, in another sect, the Whale sect, A young woman is begging her father to not be offered next. Her sacrifice is the first that year.
She tries tremendously to exercise her will to live, for she too has seen what little the blood offerings have accomplished, but her cries of anger and grieving anguish cannot alter the law of the land. Suddenly, her sect comes under attack, an attack from the revived Yugaina, who proceeds to smash down the pyramid which holds the whale sect's effigy, "Shinken". The young woman is still chained to the gallows and watches on as her observers flee, leaving her to die. In an act of desperation, she begins to plea with the Shinken statue with a mounting terror in her lungs as the great temple starts caving in. The attack is so violent, one jolt from Yugaina's blade causes the Shinken statue to topple forward, crushing the screaming offering on ground contact. Just as with the boy and Yugaina, Her will to live triggers something within The Shinken statue, causing it move with living motion. Yugaina is taken aback by this dramatic appearance. Upon standing, it seems Shinken, now possessed by the young girl, looks down at her hands and realizises her predicament. Shinken roars in horror and thrashes around in denial. Yugaina see's this and gives the newly awakened Shinken a chance to join him in his crusade. Looking around, at the destruction, the death of her people, the people whom she loved most dear through the eyes of Shinken, the woman refuses and begins to drive Yugaina away from her home. The two giants level the jungle around them. But there is a difference is between them. Yugaina, the boy with his ambition, are in full control... This factor allows them to subdue the fearful and confused Shinken, who's mind is in turmoil, in a total beatdown.
Yugaina leaves, and promises to get her on side no matter what. A day passes, Shinken regains conciseness, still shaken by the hand which she has been dealt.
Then, her tail starts turning to stone, followed by her hands and feet. She tries thrashing about to break it off. If she doesn't try gaining some level of control now, the Shinken Statue will be her unmarked grave and a memory of terror to her home province. She has one thing, the one last remnant of her humanity, the sound of her heart beat. She starts to focus on that... The sound that echoe's her desire of life. It seems to work and the stone crumbles away, allowing Shinken to move again.
As she contemplates her next move and struggle with her new reailty, three clocked figures watch on from the jungle shadows, all bearing a mark each. A Barracuda, A Gorrila, and a Dragon.
These three are feared among all sects as "The StoneWalkers", who appear in times of upheaval and uncertain future."
Lore:
- The setting is based in and around central South America. Each "Effigy" is stationed within 8 fictional mayan settlements, all governed by a monarchy.
Each sect has a representing animal, (Whale (Shinken Godzilla), Preying Mantis (Yugaina Gigan), Condor (Goriate Condor), Phantom Dragon (Madou Agon), Beetle (Kotei Megalon), Fungus (Kyōkotsu Matango), Iguana (Majin Varan) & Armadillo ( Hebi Baragon).
There are several theories as how these statues came to be. The most popular of these is a story of brave warriors who sacrificed their lives for the people by fighting on a mysterious island off the cost of Japan, who's sacrifices must be honored by blood to protect them. The Truth however, is far more horrifying...
The effigies were a result of dark dealings and black magic = Stillborn extracted from their mother's wombs and allowing demonic spirits to consume them.
These hell-spawn grew into giant abominations, only to be enslaved for labor and combat. The minds of both human and demon would often clash and cause these behemoths to run amok. Despite their appearance, these creatures are still human to the core.
When the civilization became more advanced, this cruel practice was dropped, and the surviving hybrids, denied their freedom by being sealed in stone.
However, three escapees still lurk in the shadows, serving as a reminding nightmare to the atrocities committed only to save face and to keep people in line. The shedding of virgin blood to feed this monstrous lie.
- The Stonewalkers. All these who have been offered to the effigies in the past would be branded this name. However, the attempted melding of three men as tribute to the demonic forces served as a wake up call to the powers practicing such dark and cruel magic. There is a 9th effigy, The Totem Effigy, said to be the most terrifying of all. But, it no longer exists in statue form, because the three men managed to flee their masters into the jungle. Undying and in endless agony, these three men continue to walk the earth. Their bodies no longer resembling anything considered human. And when ever they appear, disaster follows.
These men bear unique animal markings, animals similar to those who made up the Totem Monster.
- The Stone Effigies. If one is awakened, it assumes the mind and identity of the person who awoke it.
- The fishing village. While still under the umbrella of the king's rule, this small, semi isolated village does not follow any religious roots.
The kids who live in this village see the newly awakened Shinken Godzilla as their heroine. They get into trouble the further they fellow Shinken around.
- "The End Times". It is prophesied "The sun" will descend upon the earth and ending all life on it.
What the legend actually describes is the appearance of Gorath. Gorath is a tiny meteorite with sentience that travels from planet to planet, infecting them in the process like cancer cells. In the climax, Gorath finds off and descends upon South America. However, it is met with resistance by all the Stone Effigies who became awakened. Despite their best efforts, Gorath proves too much and overwhelms them. Shinken Godzilla is the last one standing, holding Gorath up over her shoulders preventing it from destroying a temple. Molten rock is the blood line of Gorath and it tries bleeding all over Shinken. This works to a degree, But Shinken, and her love of her people, she fights on. Eventually, Gorath loses steam and crumbles.

This Shinken looks like he's based off of the Warrior Godzilla from that Manga.
All in all, interesting take on the characters we used to know and love.
