AAAAAaaahhhhh, I haven't commented in a while, been largely unmotivated lately. -__-; Anyhow, you really improve a lot from each piece you know? You're already doing a full-scale background, and there's a nice perspective in this.
Something else was bothering me, and I realized that it was the colors, not that they're bad, but I think it could've been better you know?
Ok, but here's the thing that will really make a difference, CONTRAST! The lighting right now seems kind of flat, and doesn't bring out the characters enough. One thing you really have to keep in mind is how the environment effects the character's and the lighting. I drew on your picture to show this point, but there are also other things I've pointed out in it o3o --> [link]
I think a lot of the shading is probably wrong, since I was just doing this quickly. XD;; but I hope it helps.
Anyhow, glad that you've had the time to draw something this big lately, hope you can do what you like again soon~!

Yeah I know the color i use isn't that bright, maybe it's because I draw it by watching a photo. (to choose the color only, coz i don't know what color should i use- -)
And you really fix my pic really well! I always bad at this, though I also noticed this when almost finished, I still don't know what to do! Thx for the fix, it showed me the way.
Ahhh~looks like i still have a lot to learn! I should be more confidence on colouring things- -

I have this problem as well, and in my head, I figured out a method that might make the work process better with the coloring (I have yet to REALLY try this because I don't have the time to do anything serious) but, after you've finished the lineart put a solid color layer under it. And this color should be a general tone or mood for everything. For example, a yellow-ish color would work for this. Then, get a new layer and just roughly blotch in all the major colors of everything, this way it's eaiser to see what the final product would look like more.
Heh, coloring is hard really, I'm still trying to figure somethings out, xDD But hey! You're doing a really really good job already! So keep it up, because I know you can do this~! >: D

Hahaha, I don't usualy go back to fix a piece once it's done, I think I've only done it once on one thing. *shrugs*
But, points for hard work! >: D Don't worry about how similar it looks, becides, you did a much careful job, I just slapped stuff on it. o3o
There is something else that could be done though, I mean, added, for one, shading on that beautiful flower the Mech bunny(?)'s ear. And then, strengthening the colors in the background, mainly, more contrast in the sand, the shadows in the characters suggest a strong light, so the everything else would reflect this as well (sorry, forgot to mention this in the previous post).
