My DA mate Paul [link] is doing a bird feature so I thought I'd get in on it
This isn't colour enhanced at all, it is natural, i took the photo late afternoon in shade so it was quite a low shutter speed, the colours came out a bit too bright so i had to use gimp to lower them.
This is a rainbow lorikeet parrot (Trichoglossus haematodus <--- haha i just got that off a web site, i love sounding smart, if you said to me Trichoglossus haematodus, i'd say yeah i had one of them, the doctor cut it out :rofl)
They are found all along the north and east coasts of australia

ohh crap ... when Paul said bird feature i hope he was talking about this kind and not the female human bird variety haha

It almost reminds me of this Conure I found in a pet store. He's a very friendly bird and I just love watching him. His colors are bright and spread out. He's just beautiful! I think he's a Sun Conure.

ohh they're really beautiful birds, one of my favourites. there's a nature park at a place called the gold coast, it's about a 9hr drive from my place, and they have feeding of these birds and you get a tray of food hold it out and they land all over you

this guy (well it is a girl in the picture) is def one of my favourite australian birds, and yeah we have a lot of native parrots, i'll try and get pics for you
