they certainly do throw punches and they also do balance on their tales and kick with their back legs, i was pretty safe with this little girl though she was in a nature reserve and very much tame

Hmm...I've seen 'sweet tiny deer' that were oh so friendly too...but they will get in a temper and strike if they don't receive gratification.
Just have to tell you...there is a truly spooky moon overhead right now...waning...partly obscured by clouds...hmm...almost sinister looking. Too many damned mosquitoes flying right now for me to go out there and take a picture.

i took this pic at an animal reserve, all the animals have pretty much been hand raised so they are very friendly, but you're absolutely right you definately wouldn't want to be kicked by a kangaroo. In the wild male kangaroos will fight each other between mobs (mob=collective noun) for territory and within the mob for alpha male status (the alpha male fertalises ALL of the females in his mob, gee what are they fighting over that for haha). When 2 males fight they can balance and hold their weight by their tale and they kick at each other. Their claws are long and sharp and do major damage, so no you wouldnt want to be kicked.

Matt...I feel bad not getting back to your gallery or comments...which I appreciate so very much...but things should level out soon. As for the moon it is outstanding tonight, but neither Zeus nor I are willing to do battle with those flying buggery vamp's! Mosquitoes ya know!!!!! The moon truly is awesome. So you know, it is light in the north-east...the sun only settling barely beneath the horizon so that it is more a gloaming over the countryside.

and you're absolutely right about the other males ... actually the alpha male tolerates the other boys having a go until the female is fertile then if any other boy goes near her ... LOOK OUT !!!
