Tommy Richardsen // Trichardsen // Facebook // 500px // Google+ // InstagramEquinox aurora raging across the sky, despite having seen many auroras, I have never actually seen the aurora on equinox which I must say was quite the memorable experience.
Captured in Nordreisa, Troms, Northern Norway.
Nikon D800E, 15mm, F2.8, Iso 800, 25 seconds.

This picture is completely inspiring. I just stare in awe and wonder. I am sitting on a boat or standing in the water...looking, dreaming, aspiring, wondering.. Life is a journey here. Where do I go next? I can swim across to the other side, or I can climb the mountain side. Or do I stand still staring off to try to capture every bit of beauty that lies here? The colors are calming and soothing, making me want to drift asleep or maybe lie there awake getting lost from the hectic world around me. To be one with nature now.

Yeah in a way itΒ΄s a shame with the clouds, but I do kinda like it more now after the image has sunk in.
Pretty much as still water as it gets, there was a few gusts of wind coming in, but in general dead silent, this lake lies in a valley so it is often very quiet.

Love this. This is a thing I love the most with auroras - low to mid level clouds and enough upper wind to move them like this with a backdrop like that - spectacular light. Great technique!
