Description
Tommy Richardsen // Trichardsen // Facebook // flickr // 500px Β // Google+ // InstagramA beautiful and peaceful night on the mountain, my favorite was seeing the glow from the setting sun with the evening star(Venus) on the sky.
On this night there was only one guy on this mountain drinking warm tea and singing songs(loudly) to stay warm.
Image captured in SΓΈrkjosen, Troms, Northern Norway.
Nikon D810, 15mm.

Propably one of the greatest shots I've seen. The way you've divided the skyscape and land brings up the sunlight in A WONDERFUL WAY.Β

Thank you.
That is not a star, that is Venus, often called the Morning star and the Evening star.

Really???Β That's actually Venus???Β How neat!Β I didn't know that anyone could actually see a planet!Β I have heard of the Morning Star, so that's the same thing as Venus?Β Very cool, thanks!

My pleasure.
That is kind of weird, such information should be included as it would be a question one has if seeing it.

In any case, it certainly is a sight, even though it might just look like a regular star, the brightness makes it really stand out.
fun gallery btw.

Indeed, the glow on the horizon is sublime. Its warmth creates a stark contrast with the icy scenery below. Views like this are the reason why I like wintersΒ β the sky becomes a lot more breathtaking than it is during warmer seasons. It also makes stargazing a lot easier.
If only winters were a bit warmer...
Great work!

Thank you very Β much.
Yeah, the reflective quality of the snow makes most skies with a little color something spectacular.
I certainly agree with the warmth.

Beautiful!
I can see it with my eyes alone (because I know what I'm looking for), but I zoomed up on Venus to take a good look at its crescent shape. The top left side of Venus is naturally shaded. It's looks a little over a half crescent in this image. That's great that your camera caught that!
Cheers,
Ashton

Thank you.
This is almost straight out of camera, only a little more light in the shadows and the exposure is correct, I think that might be why, otherwise it would be too bright and Venus would look bigger and more circular.
