Last night was the most stunning display of Aurora I've ever seen in the Shuswap. Normally, you have to let your eyes adjust to the dark, and then you think you see something, so you do a bit of a longer exposure and the camera really shows you what's going on. Last night, this photo shows what my eyes saw. It's rare to have shows like this, this far south in Canada, and I'm glad I managed to get out briefly to watch.I even managed to accidentally smash my camera into the mud, but it seems to be fine.

Amazing! I enjoy seeing what one of these actually looks like to the eye, because I really have no idea. I hope to see something like this (in person) at least once in my lifetime. Thanks for sharing

I use two cameras, depending on what I'm doing. For this photo, I used a Canon EOS 1Dx.

one of my life dreams is to see the northern lights, i keep missing them (not that we often have chance here in England) but the chances we have had I have missed... one day... one day... for now I'll make do with beautiful pictures like this.Β
