Description

Blackhaven is a series of artwork depicting some of the most unique, chilling, and twisted nightmares imaginable. These horrifying demon all spawned from the ashes of Blackhaven Institution a nursery/orphanage that when down in flames, after one day a deranged caretaker who was driven by a mysterious and dark presence set a sudden fire in the institution which strangely spread quickly and engulfed the whole building, all of its children and staff where mysteriously trapped inside and perished in the flame. After that horrible day a dark aura slowly encompassed the nearby town of Blackhaven.It happen when you are asleep and even if you are not asleep the evil's presence can suddenly force you to slumber. No one is safe as the evil picks from the most wicked to even some of the most kind-hearted people as its victim. This evil snatches your mind and body bringing you into its hellish nightmare world,a bleak and colorless dimension where Blackhaven Institution exist as a ruined empty shell of its former state. This alternate institution trapped those who perished in the fire,now a powerful evil corrupts the innocent souls of the children morphing them into some of the most twisted monstrosities ever imaginable. The institution's victims wander the haunted,ruined, and dark halls of the of the institution in what they believe to be a nightmare. Random,disturbing and frightening events can occur at anytime and eventually its victims will come face to face with the institutions former children in intensely dark and horrific situations. As long as what drives the evil that plagues Blackhaven Institution remains unknown there maybe no way to stop its wrath.. This is artwork for encounter #1 of the encounter short stories for my series Blackhaven Institution which is written below,the encounter with this nightmare takes place in the "Nursery Wing" as follows:

It was very late at night as Jennifer Forlenza checked into the Blackhaven Inn. She was exhausted from a long day of driving and eagerly awaited to finally catch some rest. Jennifer traveled out here on vacation to visit the large sprawling Dracove City. Since hotels and inns were a lot more expensive in the city, she decided to stay here in the neighboring town of Blackhaven which wasn't to far from the city. Opening the door to her room in a hurry she hastlingly unpacked and put on her pajamas. Finally able to rest at last Jennifer plopped herself onto the white comfy bed and closed her eyes, anticipating to sleep like a baby. Only a few minutes into her rest and the sounds of an infant crying filled her ears. Agitated she woke up and waited for a while hoping the crying would die down soon, but it seemed to just continue on and her patience grew thin. The crying seemed to be coming from an a neighboring room. Jennifer wanted to confront her neighbors yet didn't want to be rude so instead she went to the lobby. She began complaining to the clerk at the front desk about the racket from her neighboring room. The clerk looked puzzled, and after checking the inn's data sheets he explained the no one has checked into either room neighboring hers. Jennifer paused, confused at what she was hearing as the clerk assured her the rooms were empty. She then returned to her room and all was silent. Jennifer once again plopped herself into bed, she assumed she must have been hearing things from a lack of sleep yet the crying to her sounded so real.
Asleep at last, Jennifer was now in a deep state of sleep. Rolling over in her sleep the bed felt suddenly severely uncomfortable, oddly solid and gravely. Waking up Jennifer found herself on the ground in front of a very large dark building that looked severely damaged from some sort of recent fire. All that is visible is this large building as everywhere else is coated in a thick fog. While Jennifer blankly stares at the charred building, trying to read a worn sign. She is able to spell out 'Blackhaven Institution' when suddenly a faint and familiar sound of a crying child fills her ears coming from the direction of the building. Her instincts kick in as this crying sounds distressing and she run into the building feeling that this child maybe in some sort of danger and trapped in this decrepit building. As she enters through the large front doors they instantly close and lock behind her. Upon entering ash and char fills up her lungs, Jennifer begins to aggressively cough and struggles to breath. Now the crying can be heard from every direction in the lobby of this building. It becoming so loud and intense that Jennifer falls to ground covering her ears trying desperately to block the noise out. She soon felt an instant spell of drowsiness and soon passed out. Seemingly in an instant Jennifer awakens in a different room of this building. Her surroundings have now drastically changed.
The walls are set ablaze all around her, what sounds like the child's song "Rock A Bye Baby" echoes in a deep distorted unsettling tongue. Jennifer trys to ignore it but the disturbing tune only gets deeper and slower. Disoriented and scare Jennifer turns around to see the path is cover with raging flames. Jennifer begins to run forward away from the blaze leading her to a door. She swiftly opens the door and rushes in. Loosing her footing she roughly tumbles down a flight of stairs landing on her side. In front of her and little bit in the distance is a dim light flickering over what looks to be woman rocking in a chair with her back turned. Jennifer in pain from her fall struggles to get up. She is very nervous stumbling as she approaches the woman, calling out to her and pleading for her to explain what is going on. As Jennifer gets close she notices the woman is dressed in old nurse garments. Close enough and in arms reach the nurse stops rocking and become completely still. Jennifer's heartbeat begins to race, not knowing what to expect next. Fidgeting the nurse slowly turns around revealing herself. Jennifer stares in shock and horror at what she now sees in front of her, stumbling back and screaming at the top of her lungs. The nurses's body is in a horrible condition, her face and most of the flesh on her body seems to have been corroded away. Jennifer start to shiver uncontrollably in fear as the nurse puts her finger to her grotesque lips quietly whispering "shhhhhh.....". The dim light fades into complete darkness for just a few seconds. Flashing back on, the nurse has suddenly vanished. Jennifer confused by this looks ahead into the darkness on the far side of the room. An absolutely abominable smell fills the air, a mix of burnt flesh, human waste, and even what smells like baby powder. Jennifer while gagging on the stench hears a sort of disgruntled moan followed with by a burp. An irregularly sized pacifier spits out from the darkness covered in a black liquid. Jennifer then hears the familiar crying coming from ahead followed by the noise of a squeaky wheel and what sounds like something dragging and scrapping against the floor. Jennifer prepares for the worst, shocked and hardly able to move as it soon comes into plain view. She now lays her eyes upon something truly horrific...

Appearing in front of her a monster. One that looks like a giant baby, severely malformed and infused into its carriage. Jennifer shutters in complete terror analyzing the features of this nightmarish creature. Its skin a grayish sickly white,its carriage black and stained with char, in the back a disgusting formation of loaded diaper that gives off the most pungent of smells imaginable. As it drags itself closer and closer, convulsing and pulsating while it crys. Jennifer gazes directly into its face,wondering how something so vile can have the face of something as innocent as a baby's. Though she never really liked babies, the smells, the crying, the wastes, it all gets under her skin but this on the underhand was a whole other level. Jennifer couldn't help but to notice a disgusting black liquid oozing from its mouth making her absolutely sick to her stomach. Jennifer unable to handle this ordeal anymore makes for it in the opposite direction still limping from her previous fall. Before she even gets far she feels claws piercing into her lower back dragging her down. The crying demon now agitated as Jennifer pinned by the creature struggles and flails about wildly. Her crying almost overpowering that of the creature. With its mouth wide open it vomits a stream of black liquid all over Jennifer. An intense burning sensation floods Jennifer's body, her eyes roll into the back of her head as the corrosive liquid eats away at her flesh. The overwhelming pain that feels so real quickly renders her helpless. Fading away she can only hope to awaken from this nightmare... Instead her vision fades to black, never to awaken again. Her soul sinking into the depths of an alternate Blackhaven Institution.
