Description
Possibly the most complex thing I've painted in the last year. <3Tried to captured the colors of the dawn, I really love the mountains in the background. I've been recently trying to paint convincing background with real lighting and am happy about the progress!
Again, I have some weird problems scanning watercolors, even the smooth paper has the structure visible when I scan it. >.<
Watercolors. Nothing else.

Nice work!
The rocks look like rocks, the character looks like a living character, fur looks like fur, and the lighting is done pretty well.
I really enjoy seeing well done artwork such as this on the DD gallery.

Yes, only watercolors and lost of hours of work, nothing else.
Still I'm not really satisfied about the lighting, I think the shadows should be darker, the light in the morning is typically very intense.

I really admire this piece. You truly did do a great job of catching the dawn colors. I love that you did it the hard way by portraying the warm colors directionally on the character and scenery, using cool colors elsewhere. The contrast is gorgeous and it keeps the color scheme from being too one-sided like it may have been if you'd coated the whole piece in warm color like some people do for sunrise scenes.
