LOL! I didn't see it at first (mostly because I havent seen it since I was like four) but this really does look like 'Between the Lions'.

I really like how he's got that look of wisdom, patience, and curiosity. Also, the way he looks straight at the viewer, as if the viewer is the one being drawn.

Idk if you've ever seen it before but are you familiar with a kids' show called "Between The Lions"? This reminds me a lot of that show, an illustration really befitting a children's book.

I love the expression in this piece. Above all, it sets such a mood of intrigue! It really makes you wonder what he's painting...

perhaps, but still this pic is awesome! I mean its awesome like... like... a lion painting! Oh wait, its a lion painting!.
Anyway, I love his expression (for some reason I imagine it to be a very funny scene, where the lion appears with this relaxed face in front of a guy and the guy goes like "HOLY CRAP, A LION PAINTING! AAAAHHH!!!").
