I'm overwhelmed by the details of this art work. Wow! I don't know where to start. I have a gift for interpretation. I study art works and interpret what the artist is expressing or what the art work may mean to me. This one here is an incredible challenge. But, I'll give it a shot here goes...................
The first thing that got my attention was Mitsurugi being that he's my favorite game character that I've played since "Soul Blade". And then there's Tira, Astaroth, and ....darn I can't remember her name for some reason. I haven't played this game for a while. Anyway, ......Hilda! I remembered now! Cool. Well, from the looks of it, this is a chance encounter among the characters. This may be wishful thinking but I'm assuming from the position, that Mitsurugi would be the central character of that comic. Sweet! My main character! XD Anyway, I'm looking at the background now and the landscape is like a city ruins, in the desert. Perhaps an outskirt. The dark shadows of ravens can be seen in the background as they often serve as Tira's watchers, and messengers. The ravens appear to be coming from somewhere as to suggest an aftermath of a battle or a massacre. The dark grey clouds are often associated to atmospheres that portrays the look and feel of battlefields. The dusty sky, could very well be the result of those battles. Fallen bodies, everywhere, when the land is filled with fallen warriors, there is enough that covers the land to create a dusty air. This perhaps may entail an army, perhaps the war between Hilde's army and Nightmare's forces. Although Nightmare is no where to be seen, Tira and Astaroth's presence in this cover serves as a link or a main plot device to the main boss or antagonist. Most main antagonist are often yet to be seen, which serves as a climatic element to the third act of every story. Hilde could be whom Mitsurugi meets along the way. Due to Mitsurugi's quest for the strongest fighter, the situation of the story serves well enough for an incredible adventure highlighting the lone swordsman among other things.
Personally I love the lone swordsman concept especially with samurais. It is one of the epic themes of every heroic adventures that never grows old. I was actually inspired to write a fanfiction of SC3 using my CAS as the lone swordsman. I'm planning to film this in the future. (Long story) but anyway, overall this is an incredible cover. The cover alone tells a story as well. It leaves me to use my imagination to picture the possible scenarios that will surface from the comic. I hope I get to read this one. Well, that about concludes my interpretation. Once again this pic is incredible in details and in content. It's safe to say very ambitious too. The style of art is very attention grabbing which is very likely the idea. It's very effective. I should take notes. I can learn allot........actually I have learned allot from studying this pic. But in my case, it will take time and practice before I can reach this level. I have no doubt in my mind that I will. Great art work once again. I hope you enjoyed my interpretation. It's what I do. XD ......among other creative things. XD

David Grier is an amazing colourist and your pencils are wonderful as well. However I think that you could find another colourist that suits your style better. Anyways, wonderful piece!
