I like how this is set up. I mean, I'm a sucker for a good group shot, but this one's really unique. I guess because they're focused on their own thing as opposed to looking at the viewer.

"Artistic license" is an overused pretext. I think canonless moves are out of artistic license, It would be considered as free reinterpretation.

depends on what you consider canon i guess. seems to me like you're just sticking to what you play in a game where the fighting is limited to a set pattern of moves that are pulled of in the exact same way every time. there are many other forms of media (manga, comics, anime) that have done plenty of moves that don't stick completely true to the video games. are you going to go picking on the people who created those works as well or are you picking on me because it's convenient?
