Personal / portfolio piece. Prints are available on my store and step-by-step process images will be added to my Patreon shortly.
Painted in Photoshop CS4 and Corel Painter 12.
Sorry for the lack of activity as of late; my MDD reared its ugly head again this year. It slows me down on every part of my life, painting especially, and what energy I had I dedicated mostly to commissions. This painting's been in the works almost the entirety of this latest depressive episode so the title feels rather fitting to finish it now, as I finally drag myself out of the hole again.

I'm so sorry for the struggle you've been going through. I can't imagine how hard that is to deal with--wishing you all the best and hoping that you have a little bit of light coming your way as you find your way out of that hole.

My sincere condolences with your MDD. I've only been dealing with a version that is a side effect of my current medical treatment for the last couple of years; but it has given me a glimpse of what you and a couple of other friends are going through as you battle the true condition. You have all my admiration, understanding, and whatever support I can give you along your way.

It's just so frustrating. Ever since my severe episode, it's been like... two steps forward, one step back. It's taking forever to recover, if "recovery" is even a thing in the normal context with mental illness. Don't get me wrong; I'm happy, loved, and my life is pretty damn good. But it's one hell of a wrench in my life, hahaha.

It's a very powerful picture. Sad to read about your depressice period, glad that you start to get back on your feet. The painting does reflect sad feelings, but it is beautiful!
