Watercolor on Arches cold-pressed 140 lbs, 9" x 12", September 2016.My cat Yoda passed away earlier in 2016, and though I've had this in my sketchbook since spring, I wasn't ready to paint it until recently. I'm glad I waited, because not only do I feel like I really captured him here but also because painting this helped me think of all the good memories of my nineteen years with him. He was the best cat

You did an amazing job! And I know that it doesn't help, but 19 years is a long time to have your dear friend. But I am very sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is almost as hard as losing a child.

I love it, especially how you did the nose.
My only critism would be the eyes, the black is a little too black and too thick, it does not blend in as perfectly as the rest of the painting.
But even with that little point it's still an awesome painting with lovely gentle colours!

I just wanted to say how beautiful Yoda is. He will always be with you, watching over you. Just keep thinking of all the good times you both had together. I would like you to know that you are a wonderful person for giving a home to a shelter cat, people like you are angels on earth. I will think of you both tonight when I say goodnight to all my furry forever friends, past and present. Peace and love.

I just lost my Hanna to cancer as I raced her to the vets only to have her pass away in my arms in route. I still cry almost everyday I loved her so much. I got her from, the shelter of course as I always do. Animals never do one single thing wrong in their whole lives and yet still suffer just like human beings so often, and it just doesn't seem fair is partially why it bothered me so much. I hope both our little friends are in haven waiting for a chance to re-unite once more with us with no pain, no sorrow or suffering ever again.
All the best to you during this time of missing him and your happiness returns. It's a great picture.

I just think that God gave us animals as a gift and to help and teach us. I believe that animals die out so quickly to show human beings that life is short and be ready because our turn will come too. I love Hanna so much because she made me a better, more caring human being and helped cheer me up more times than I can count. I wish both of us peace and happiness knowing our pals are counted as something beautiful in heaven too. :heart.
