Description
Young Kingfisher.Taken with 100mm Macro lens - at SPCA Bird Rescue. This bird had a broken wing and was being cared for.

he pecked at us while we were checking out his broken wing, and although he's strong and feisty, he didn't hurt

Was this with flash? The colours are good but don't seem 100% natural

The colours of the bird are totally natural, it's a subscpecies of the sacred kingfisher. But it was taken inside, and the blue is not the blue of the sky, but the blue of a tshirt someone was wearing, which would make the colours look a bit unnatural. Bird had a broken wing so wasn't going anywhere,, and it was complaining bitterly as it was just been checked to see how long the healing had come along - another few weeks and it'll be let go once it's healed.
