Description
Another shot from yesterday. This is my mother's cat. She wouldn't hardly sit still for a photo but I managed to snap this one as she was weaving through my legs. As a whole it's a good photo I guess. I would have liked for her to turn out a little more crisp but this is what you get when you have a playful model!
Critique very much wanted!

First of all, you've captured a very nice expression here and the colors are gorgeous! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/t/t… " width="15" height="15" alt="

However, there are some details that could be improved in my humble opinion.
Pros :
- great expression
- beautiful colors, the photo looks very natural and soft
- nice depth of field,
- the pose and angle are very lovely!
Cons :
- I wish the paw, whiskers and ear weren't cropped, it is kinda distracting and doesn't help focusing on the beautiful eyes of the cat as these elements draw the eye of the viewer out of the picture
- some extra space on the left would be nice, for now it is not centered enough or too centered, which gives the feeling of an unbalanced shot
I think either a much closer crop or a larger framing would work better, helping to focus more on the cat's expression and drawing the eye of the viewer into the picture.
Overall a lovely shot with some minor details that could be improved. I hope it can help. Keep it up e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="

I may look cute and cuddly, but inside-GRANITE!! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/m/m… " width="29" height="15" alt="

Oh, how I love cat expressions like this, they always remind me of those goofy captions you can find on google image search. This one suggests a Slavic accent or something on those lines, give it a bottle of vodka! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/l/l… " width="19" height="19" alt="

Anyhow, the piece has an excellent facial expression, and the winter snow gives flavor to the possible thoughts the cat might be thinking, it's eyes staring dark and sinically into the camera lense, a tactical genius deep within, waiting to strike when the enemy is least expecting! Do svi-dan-niye!
In conclusion: Complimenting silent characters with backgrounds personafying thier inner merits and flaws can give a powerful and sympathetic feel to any piece. Like present here. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="

Thank you very much for your kind words. It makes me very happy that you liked this photograph. She really is a nice, loving cat though I can't imagine her thinking anything cynical - but who knows! Thank you again

i totally love this shot.
great choice of DOF. it made me concentrate to the cat's face, especially eyes.
the angle of the face and pose (one leg forwarded) are so right on! that creates great "movement" in still image.
and the expression is just so cute and loveable.

oh, this is lovely.
i really like the angle of this.
i think it would be better, if her ear would be complete on the picture though.
anyway, nice picture! (;

Ah the troubles of photographing a moving cat! I would have loved it if she had sat still for 3 seconds more so I could have framed it a little better! Thank you for the nice comment!

the angle of this picture is really nice. Also, thelook in the cat's face...scary,though. I like the brightness in the brders, which resemble the cold and weet winter.

That's because there was about 10 inches of snow under her feet! Thank you again for the fav and comment!
