Finally...it's finished!! So here's my drawing tribute to the upcoming 2012 movie! It's the scene of the Los Angeles skyline where the plane is about to fly right between the California Plazas.

So this drawing is easy yet hard at the same time.. since it's all destruction, I could add whatever debris I wanted & it looked great but I still wanted to stay true to the reference.

The hardest parts of the drawing was probably trying to recreate the dust clouds and smoke... Also the body of Two California Plaza, where it was pretty much destroyed in the middle with dust clouds, yet there were some parts that were still intact and it's a glass skyscraper so that kinda adds to the difficulty of drawing it. And also those buildings below the U.S. Bank Tower.. it was only when I looked at the HD version of the video that I noticed more details and realise that I left out half of that one building where is collapses in the middle of itself. Another part was the bottom of the Figueroa at Wilshire (that building to the far right). (Yes, I went to research on the skyscrapers of Los Angeles that I was drawing and found out their names!)

Overall though, it was a fun drawing to do. It did take quite a long time though due to all debris, smoke, shading & details in the drawing. I also worked on one building/element at a time and then took a break in between.
