Description
March 10, 2017: While going through Dr. Miller's old files, I have uncovered something remarkable: a previously-unknown wealth of information regarding the ultimate fate of Skull Island. Though the world believed that the lost island had sunk to the bottom of the ocean in a massive earthquake in 1933, Dr. Miller was apparently part of a rather large conspiracy to keep Skull Island's continued existence a secret.
February 12, 1973: Nobody seems to believe me, but it's the truth. I honestly believed that Skull Island had been lost forever after the catastrophic earthquake in 1933. The geologists studying the area have confirmed that the earthquake was very real - which got most of the people around me off my back, if nothing else - but apparently, not all of the island had been lost. I can believe that; the sun was setting and the seas were vicious as we fled all those decades ago, we'd drifted miles away by sunrise. I can hardly believe, however, that none of the expeditions to the Vapour Islands afterward never came across Skull Island again.
According to the geologists, a series of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions in the area had continued long after we left. The island was torn apart and meshed back together again. The Iwi Village was torn apart, and the Wall is completely gone, as are many of the old ruins. The original ecosystem was turned upside-down. Most of the dinosaur life of the island was wiped out.
Not everything was lost, however.
The surviving Iwi now dwell in an ancient ruin deep in the heart of the jungle. Swarms of smaller animals, kept small for ages by the might of the ruling saurians, are running amok through the jungle. Without the apex predators of the island, some once-smaller species have grown to amazing sizes, rivaling the dinosaurs of old.
Most astounding of all, King Kong himself, who vanished from the eyes of the world after his battle with Mechani-Kong atop Tokyo Tower, has returned to his home island. He seems as huge as ever, towering over the beast we saw in 1933. While the Tyrannosaurs of the island are gone, Kong is still vying for dominance against a number of vicious giants...

Shame that the dinosaurs of the old island are gone. I wonder; what if the giant insects and such are refugees from the spider pit?

The Spider Pit does indeed have something to do with the newer critters - I'll explain soon! Thanks for the comment, though!

Awesome!
Also, I was thinking, will this mean that the sker buffalo from kong, skull island will have evolved from the guar (the cows in the concept art book, can't remember its name right now).

You're absolutely right! It'll mean that, plus a few other things that you'll see in the weeks to come!

Great! I've scanned the comments on these for a while to take in the story as much as possible, and I dare say that this is most likely one of the most clever twists yet that you've used to really add to the story! (A close second would be having king ghidora be the ancestral dragon, I'm not sure if this is all still canon, but it was in the taro the dragon post and I thought it was quite cool )

Yup, it's all still canon, and thank you so much!
