If the rumors are true and Luke has a son in The Force Awakens then there might be a possibility that Mara Jade will make it into the new canon.

I've seen the movie and Luke doesn't have a son. However, there's a theory that Rey is Luke's daughter and some fans even think Mara Jade (or someone inspired by her) is her mother so who knows.
