Description
You have thought that I'm able to draw only anime girls with dish-size eyes, have you? But sometimes I can do something more interesting. I just haven't enough time now to draw complicated things like warships.
MiG-25 (Foxbat in NATO classification) is an interceptor and reconnaisance plane, 36 tons of awesomeness. It was created to fight against American bombers B-58 and XB-70 Valkyrie. MiG-25 was adopted in 1972 and served till 2013. Algerie, Syria, India, Iraq, Lybia and other countries also used this plane, and some of them still use MiG-25. There was one ugly accident in 1976, when Soviet pilot Belenko hijacked one of MiG-25s and landed it in Japan. Americans received valuable data about the plane and the IFF system. This act of treachery forced Soviets to spend a lot of money to modernize MiG-25s and entire air defence system.

I was amazed by the turbojet engines used in this aircraft. The R-15 engines have a five stage compressor and a single stage turbine, much simpler than the J-58s on the SR-71.

The MiG-25 is one of my all-time favourite military jets, a true no-nonsense plane built for speed. That said, the painting truly does honour to the marvel of engineering, portrayed in its natural habitat (a well-pictured skyscape). It is as if the interceptors captured in the image could start moving any minute.
Truly well done!

I had never heard of this aircraft before that incident. A fascinating aircraft, I think it is healthy to be curious about one's potential or actual adversaries.

I think so too. But the very necessity to have adversaries is quite ugly thing.

Yes, real wars are messy, VERY messy! One only needs to look at the 'after' photos of Stalingrad, London, or Berlin for a few examples.

Speed, need more speed! Very nice job.
Still, I bet Aya can outrun them! (Yes I am very aware these are the fastest interceptors in the world).

The only one who could probably catch Aya are the Boreads from Greek Mythology (they chased down the harpy Ocypete, the Greek equivalent to Aya). I have seen a tengu reach speeds in excess of 1200 m/s.
Hopefully that pilot however is not too distracted by Aya's beauty. Gorgeous tengu, really.

Well, I generally used greys for the clouds and blues for the sky. ^^''
But I suspect that you asked about how did I pick the colors. Usually I choose one or two photos unrelated to the theme of my picture to choose colors from them. Photos of flowers, for example.

I used the program called Corel Painter. Unfortunately, I have forgotten how to hold a pencil in the hand properly.
