DeviantArt Protect: DMCA Process ImprovementsDeviantArt Protect now sends notifications for potential NFT infringement that include a direct link to OpenSea’s DMCA form, removing a layer of friction from the takedown process. Upgrade to Core for unlimited coverage with DeviantArt Protect!DeviantArt Protect was launched in 2021 to better safeguard artists’ rights, providing state-of-the-art image recognition software to notify artists of potential infringement. One of the hardest things artists have to deal with involves the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown process, which on third-party marketplaces is not always easy to find or use.With this in mind, we’ve improved the notifications sent by DeviantArt Protect for non-fungible tokens (NFTs). When a notification for potential NFT infringement is received, it now includes a direct link to OpenSea’s DMCA takedown form—making it easier to fill out and file a takedown request. ,While art theft continues to be a problem that impacts creators across the Internet, DeviantArt is committed to protecting the rights of artists. The process of removing stolen artwork shouldn’t be an extra burden for artists, and we will continue to enhance DeviantArt Protect going forward.
