New 100-400 lens. It doesn't like low light so its a bit noisy. Shot in a 3,500 acre Nature Preserve. My favorite place to shoot.

That's a wonderful picture! I know it's difficult to capture things in the rain, but when you do, it's SO worth it! This is great!

Thanks........I had considered it a bad morning. The new 100-400 zoom does not shoot well in low light so all the shots got noisy (grain) from the ISO getting pushed. That was later in the morning and the light improved a bit. I guess you have to take what you get. Shot more there yesterday, much better light.

That's the way it's always been. The higher the film ASA or now, digital ISO, the poorer the quality. And zooms have always needed more light, too. Some things haven't changed, despite the digital revolution!

I guess the best way to overcome this is to shoot many frames until I get it right.

Somebitch wish I was wit ya rain and all. Say hello to apple annie for me. I have a ?,do you have an extender on that zoom?, noticed the shot was 320mm. Also not to bad a shot at 9:37PM. Love the fall color blend background.

They don't feed the deer any longer so they are skiddish (normal) don't stand there like annie did. Have to hit the scrapes to find them. New 100-400 Canon IS lens purchased in St. Thomas, no extender, although it takes one very well.

Nicely captured has alot of mood to the photo. Did you get a good deal on the lens in ST. Thomas? Whats the aperature range, 4.5-5.6?( note me K).

Reeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! 4.5-5.6 100-400 IS. Got a great deal in St. Thomas, and he threw in UV filters. Was more concerned in getting Anthony a good deal. T saved over $1,000.00. It's a tough lens in low light. Auto Focus doesn't work well in the Forest, must shoot manual. Tripod would be best but who wants to lug even an omnipod through the woods. I'm shooting a lot and learning what not to do.

Thanks.........Got about ten minutes of good light on a foggy rainy day. Thought the fog would add a super element but the new 100-400 Zoom don't like low light and everything came out noisy. Must learn how to control that.

Was a tough day, so thanks. I'm glad I got one or two descent shots that day. Foggy, rainy, big Zoom don't like low light. ISO gets pushed and you get noise.

Thanks........She thought whe was hiding. I love that about them. They believe if they stay absolutely still, you can't see them. I like to play with them and see who moves first. I've never won this contest.

..........not to mention it looks like something from a Disney movie, with the lighting in the background. Waiting for Thumper and the Seven Dwarfs to come out from the surrounding bushes.

The colors here are incredible. The noise isn't too bad, honestly, and the composition and the framing more than make up for it. Really, it's such a remarkable scene that it almost doesn't look real!

Thank you........The lighting was not the best so the shot got pushed. What you see is called noise in the digital world. This happens in low light.
