Description
She is a character from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance- the only female boss chara with awesomness armssss~
But what the heck is this anatomy you speak of... xD
Huh, well... I drew it somewhere in the start of January, but since, heh, she has so many arms, I didn't find the patience to work on this pice in one go. :'D
Actually... I drew this out of excitment when I couldn't wait for MGR's relese date and the ONLY thing I've spoiled for myself so far is Mistrals boss fight. I made a promise to myself, that *this time* I wouldn't google absolutely everything, wouldn't watch vid's/playthroughs/live streams- WOULDN'T SPOIL ONE OF THE MOST AWESOMESSS GAMES for myself... Like I did with Metal Gear Solid 4... ._. It's not that fun to play a game if you already know what's going to happen, so yeah... I have no idea what's going on in Rising. Other than the trailers/teasers/demo/Mistrals boss fight and what was shown in the Angry review 8D
Anyways, there is also Raiden fanart comin' ~ ;D

Very nice, IMO second best boss in the game! And this music while fighting with her.... I wish I could draw even half as you.

in all honesty I think she's a better woman for Raiden then Rose

well because they have similer pasts and Raiden doesn't have to kill her and talks her into joining Maverick and bang she falls in love with him... you should do a pic of them together

She didn't do anything to him. If any other commander besides her was betrayed like that, they would have killed him on the spot. But she didn't. She didn't even kill blade wolf when she was finished manipulating him, even though he was a lose end. That has to count for something.

So enslavement, being forced to kill( He hated killing, actually), Regular humiliation(he hates being forced to shake too) and god knows what else off screen...
No, no, I'm glad she ended up as gory ice cubes after our fight.

If blade wolfs words "I lack mans morality to resist killing, and his bloodlust to pursue it" so he is indifferent about killing. And I'm not saying mistral is a saint. She really isn't. I'm just saying, imagine one of the other commanders in her place. They would have killed him on the spot. The only reason blade wolf is even a character in the main game is because of mistral.

This is beautiful. The level of detail and choice of colours are great. I just fought Mistral for the second time last night - she's such a good boss.

You mean this character?...
No.
This is Mistral, from the Metal Gear Rising universe.

Doktor: "Raiden, zat Mistral woman. Is she truly a full-body cuborg?"
"Hehe, that's what the intel says, at least. Why, you noticed something?"
Doktor: "Indeed, two somethings in fact. Based on zeir movements, her chest region did not appear to be artificial."
"...You can tell that just from what I saw!?"
Dpktor: "Indeeed. After some detailed image analysis I am 80% certain zat iz her own natural torso. If it iz indeed a cyborg chessy, it's the most advanced I've even seen. Such technology would not come cheap, that would mean whoever is backing Desperado is likely quite wealthy"
That's the MG series for ya, no matter how serious and dramatic the story, there are bound to be some awesome gags as well

What I still couldn't understand is why did it appear to be painful for her to stick on those extra arms? I don't see why doing that would hurt at all.

Applying new "parts" to your nervous system is always painful. Think of this as Edward Elric getting a pretty painful "pinch" when his automail was reattached.
Or for a better example, think of this as new teeth tearing out extra fast.

Hexidextrous In reply to LukeTheRipper [2014-03-09 18:17:50 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, well she isn't like having them grafted on with stitches or anything. They are just being like stuck onto her extra joint areas.
Besides, it was mentioned that the combat Cyborgs are equipped with military-grade Pain Inhibitors, so they shouldn't be able to feel pain anyways.
π: 0 β©: 1
LukeTheRipper In reply to Hexidextrous [2014-03-09 18:29:01 +0000 UTC]
Just as there are different kinds of pain, so is the hardware for it.
Pain Inhibitors only absorb pain inflicted by others, as in, if she's cut or shot she doesn't feel it, but "extra joint areas" mean just what I said, she's friggin sticking foreign objects into her own nervous system, and that kind of pain CAN'T be dulled by such inhibitors cause she needs to "feel" the extra limbs. In which case, it's more or less like she gets a small "electric" shock each time a hand is added, and when it's so many at once, she gets into much more pain than usual, easy enough?
π: 0 β©: 1
Hexidextrous In reply to LukeTheRipper [2014-03-09 18:30:45 +0000 UTC]
Hmm, I never really thought of it that way. Well I guess that would make sense, on why sticking extra limbs and having to have her body adapt to those new appendages to move would hurt like that.
π: 0 β©: 1
LukeTheRipper In reply to Hexidextrous [2014-03-09 18:42:02 +0000 UTC]
Ever thought why automail operations in FMA were done on conscious patients? As in, without anaesthesia?
It's because the nervous system must be active for such prosthetics to adapt, so the patient must endure the pain.
And like I said, sticking one arm would cause a small "shock", but sticking so many at once... well, it's more or less like getting hit once, or withstanding a barrage of punches.

WoodSpider In reply to LukeTheRipper [2014-03-21 02:24:20 +0000 UTC]
She wasn't exactly in "pain" when she was attaching, in fact it felt like she needed a minute to herself...

All depends on how you interpret it. Sometimes it's hard to determine which one is it.

Every game creator is guilty of some form of fanservice, doesn't mean it's intended in each and every scene.

This game is worth playing through multiple times >3
And it's not that long to make it frustrating
Part of that are the codec calls, there's a total of 650 of these (though you need to listen to "only" around 400 of these for the trophy), which sometimes shift very quickly, like some which are only accessible after a specific scene, and disappear moments after it |D like the Mistral ones for example, hehe, as each and every team member has a comment or two about her, ahem, "cyborg enhancements" >D (for example, Courtney is obviously jealous of her looks and fussed how all her features including her face are cybernetic )
By the way, did you know there are special codec calls even during boss fights? >3
π: 0 β©: 1
Si3art In reply to LukeTheRipper [2013-06-01 11:06:04 +0000 UTC]
Yup, at least that's one reason why the shortness of the game isn't that annoying.
Huehehe... That many code calls? Oh, it's gonna take forever to listen to all of these. 8D
Yea, I noticed that there are some *le special* calls during boss fights, but guess I was too busy smashing buttons and figuring out how to defeat them... xD
But no worries~ Now I'm paranoidly calling everybody as frequently as possible.

LukeTheRipper In reply to Si3art [2013-06-01 11:20:26 +0000 UTC]
Well, I was raised on games you could clear within 1-2 hours, hehe, so I have no issues with the "shortness" of MGR. Plus, at least this makes the game more replayable, seriously, how many people did not throw God of War on the shelf-of-the-cleared-and-forgotten once they cleared it once?
And it takes about 8-12 hours to clear the game while listening to all of these, from what I heard |3
Hehe, and once you get Bloodlust from Sundowner, that's the only thing you'll ever need (when upgraded appropriately of course), hehe, I remember I got a perfect victory against Sam the first time I played when I let loose my perfectly upgraded Bloodlust >D (Sam stands around waiting/taunting way too often, making it easy to fully charge each Bloodlust attack >D)
