Description
"Maybe we're just not meant to be"
Hope you remember these two ;w; I've been thinking about writing a story for a possible comic involving this couple, what do you guys think?
Thanks for everyone's participation into the 'What's your favorite color' thing, I'm still checking everyone's work so replies may delay a bit!

I believe it is inspired by Icarus, the son from the Greek Myth.
You know, the one where to escape an old man (the guy who made the famous labyrinth with the minotaur) and his son, Icarus, make wings out of feathers and wax and such. The father warns his son not to fly too high because the sun will melt the wax and he will fall. But Icarus flies high anyways (whether it was because he was mesmerized by the sun or just really loved flying I don't remember) and his wings end up melting and he drowned in the ocean he fell into.

βMaybe weβre just not meant to be. Your fire burns so bright, so bright,
Once upon a time, it lit up my Life
Filled the darkness with a calming fire
And stoked the coals over shared desire
But, that time has come and gone
And I donβt know how to say
That my love for you is now forgone,
Forsaken in the coming dawn
I find myself clinging still
And yet, perched upon a windowsill
I look beyond the glass and see
All the people far below me
Smiling, happy; alone, and free
My own shackles keep me here
Trapped by lies and anxious fears
And you, above all, shouldnβt have
Used my own chains against me
Keeping me drowning in my tears.
By the time I realize itβs time to flee
Youβve already long-since burned my wings
You keep me prisoner, so handily
Convincing me that the key
Is long-since gone and thrown away
Forever the victim, forever needing
My compassion, my love and healing
How blind could I be?Β
Your light blazing bright, too bright
That the after-image was hard to believe
A devious trickster, a thief, a liar
Stealing my heart and raking it though the fire.β
βLock, Chain, Key, Latchβ, by Me. Inspired by your brilliant works (and some of my own interpretations)!

Icarus and the sun?
Love it!
How did you do the colors? Watercolor? Or digital post-processing? :3

Comic! Comic! Comic! I was actually hoping you already had a story for these two. I have loved them since I first started seeing the artwork for them floating around. I fully support and encourage you to try a comic if you haven't already.

This was submitted back in 2015. There has been a story featuring these two in comic form.

He's made of wax and she's the sun.
So their relationship is difficult.
She needs him to burn but when they are together he will melt.
They are currently apart from each other.

It's a story based on a story that already exists. I forgot what it was called but it was about someone that grew wings that he tried to rip away from his body, at some point he gave up and flew too close to the sun which killed him.
Picalo made a story based on that one, except in this one the sun is an actual person.
If you look in his gallery you'll find more pages to this story ^^

The original myth is called Daedalus and Icarus I think. Icarus is the one who flew too close to the sun.

That basically makes it a story based on a story based on another story.

His wings we're made of wax and since he flew too close to the sun they melted, so he tumbled out of the sky and fell to his death. It's a greek story the winged person is called "Icarus". You can Google more about it! There have been multiple remade twists to this story since it's quite interesting.
