Description
Hey guys! As most of you know, I had some issues with this tin that resulted in the initial resin pour being...fuzzy? Shame it had to happen to my favorite tin, but that's the way it seems to go! :/
I've put up this tin on eBay at a starting bid of $5 with no reserves. Hopefully someone will give it a good home.
This tin has corals, anemones, two clown fish, a ray, a little hermit crab, sand dollars, and real tiny sea shells. It has a base of white sand. All of the items in the tin minus the sea shells were handmade from polymer clay, and the water is made from a clear resin.
This tin took me roughly 15 hours to make, not including the two days it took for the resin to dry between pours.
The eBay auction is here.
JubjubtheJabberwocky was sweet enough to make a pixel version!

Personally, it looks more realistic fuzzy Like the water's kind of rippling a little or moving you know?

Wow that's so amazing!! An underwater world in a small altoids tin! Incredible!
I was wondering where do you get the resin? And is the resin dangerous?
Anyway, beautiful work and I can't wait to see more beautiful creations!

Thanks! I buy mine at Michaels. It isn't the best stuff. I have to wear a respirator and gloves while working with it, along with sitting next to an open door. The fumes are the worst part.

I love this!
I think the fuzz gives it sort of a rippling effect making it more realistic.

maybe you could use the 'fuzzy' resin to make ones that look like their frozen!

Thanks! I've had several requests for one, and a couple of pending commissions that asked for one. I think it'll happen sooner rather than later.

This was a great idea! I know the other tins work well with clear resin, but if you do the more "tropical" tins again, you might experiment a little with using either sand that has a very light blue cast, or by a little bit of blue color in the resin. That might give them a more "tropical blue" appearance instead. But I'd play with it a bit before doing an actual tin, first. But it might work... *shrug*

Thanks! I've been told that a few times. I was just worried the blue might make the details a little hard to see. Though maybe the tiniest tint wouldn't be so bad. I'll try on a small tin and see what happens!

the surface of the water looks more realistic, like how it would actually appear in nature considering small waves and wind on the water's surface. I wouldn't consider this a bad mistake (:

You're right, it does. I'm just so used to the really clear resin that I guess I couldn't see it that way.
