Pelagic Mermaid (Sirena pelagicus)

Overview: Warrior species dedicated to conquering every bit of ocean worth conquering, and a couple of the parts that aren't. Technically a social species, although how they maintain their social structure despite their constant infighting is still the subject of much scientific speculation.

Diet: Big and meaty things--the bigger and meatier, the better.

Habitat: Open ocean, anywhere the bottom is too deep to see.

Danger Level: Extremely High--Would probably start a war with all of humanity if it wasn't stuck in water.

Sightings: Common--More frequent than 74% of surveyed scuba divers are comfortable with.
