Description
I got into these runes for some time ago. Found a book that had the letters of both old germanic and viking runes. So, i chose the vikings and did this. The snake figure is somewhat same as in the real runestones and the text is from a finnish book called Kalevala. It is a collection of old poems that tell about the origins of our long lost pagan religion. This piece is from a part where a guy called LemminkΓ€inen was going to a war. He was all alone and ride through a forest. He was not only a great warrior, but also a witch so he summoned an army of dead soldiers. This is the spell he said. It goes about like this:"Up from the ground, swordsmen of the woods. Archers and spearmen from the rivers and wells. All the people of the forest."
Sorry for not making it sound as convincing as it sounds in finnish, but youll get the idea.

Hi there!
Nice work. I have heard of Kalevala, but never had the chance to read it. I think it is a very interesting part about Finland and its culture. Anyways, seeing your work Im putting you on my DevWatch

Well thanks.
The stuff i make is actually a lot more myths of the north than myths of finland. I read the Edda and that inspired me a lot. Reading through the saga of the blood brothers (dont know if this is the name) at the moment so.. you will maybe see more and more viking influence on my pics.
