Description
Southern Utah is a beautiful area. It's very different from the Northern part where Salt Lake City is. This is a view from a rest area off the Freeway. Really just a shot from my trip. But I am always awed by our country, it's vastness and varied beauty makes me happy I am free to explore it as often as I like.Related content

Me too Tom.. and I hadn't looked at it in a long time. We drive through Utah about four times a year!

beautiful photo. I love utah. Jeremiah Johnson is one of my favorite movies and the entire thing was filmed in Utah.
I have been to Lake Powell in southern Utah and I can say that it is one of the most beautiful places that I have ever been.

Because of the strick Mormon moral code though, you also find lots of genuine honesty... I rather like that.

honesty is good. polyamory is probably not so good.

According to my brother (who turned Mormon late in life), polygamy is not part of their thing anymore... though there are some folks (like Orthodox mormon or something) that still practice.

Some towns like St. George, Utah have a lot of those orthodox mormons.

It was pleasantly warm there that day... not too hot. But in summers, the weather is unbearable almost. Beautiful though... very beautiful!

"And above us only sky" as Lennon sang . This is just beautiful. I find it hard to do good landscapes, but it makes me appreciate good ones even more

'save the mormans'..... he he....
Left a great leather jacket in a restaurant driving through a predominantly morman city... and was thankful for their moral code. The jacket arrived via UPS in perfect condition! And it couldn't have been easy to find our address... had to call the credit card company and stuff like that. Amazing!

I don't know much about Mormonism...even though my brother converted to it when he was in his 40s. His life is definitely better...something about giving him boundaries that I think he needed... and something to lean on that is stable. Some folks need that.
I'm pretty open to religions of any kind as long as they allow the person to get better and encourage responsibility for self and your own actions (no shifting if off to the devil). I dislike bigots of any kind... christian or any kind at all.

Thank you. I've always enjoyed being in Utah. the only part I didn't like was going west from SLC towards Nevada and the Sierras. It's so desolate, it's almost scary.
But all the rest is quite wonderful! You should have a nice time.
