I started this sketch last night while watching "Samurai Champloo." This particular ep featured the Tengu, not these guys of course, but mask-wearing human bandits. Very cool stylizations on the Tengu however.

There was a crowd gathering as Tancho and Ariana got closer to the infirmary. Graeme and Takakura spotted them and came out to meet them.

"Oneechan!" Graeme put his hands on her shoulders. "Have you heard?"

"Just that Kirin's hurt," she replied, looking into her twin's eyes. "What happened? Is it very bad?"

"A crazy female and some of that Korean bunch stormed the rookery," Takakura reported bluntly. "I'm not sure why but Master Kirin was forced to fight them off."

"Lucy's just gone in to be with Beatrix," Graeme added. "Kirin had invited Beatrix to talk about England. She's hurt too, but not as bad as Kirin." He couldn't look her in the face. "Ari, he got cut up pretty bad."

Pressing her lips together, Ariana stared at the ground as she forced herself not to panic. When she looked up again, her eyes were flinty. "Who did it? Did they get away with it?"

"Kirin managed to stop them there in the classroom," Graeme answered. "I overheard Kai say that he had them taken over to the watchtower. Next to the rookery, it's the most secure place in the compound."

"I know where that is," Takakura said coolly, pointing his long-nosed face in that direction. "Come along, Tancho, let's go find out about that. There's nothing we can do here." He nodded at Ariana. "Give our best to sensei. We'll check on him later."
