heh... one of Ariana's other suitors has a magnificent singing voice. Kirin doesn't sing but he does play a mean flute...I just wish that I'd drawn Kirin on a separate piece of paper instead of drawing him off the edge of the paper and thru the table that Ari's leaning on....
EDIT 7/14/06: Ha! I re-drew Kirin separately and knitted them together in photoshop.

This can be a sketch, but i love the lineart here. Very nice and clean
And what a miracle!! Kirin is wearing a new tunic!! I think the old one is in the laundry 
And i also love their expresions, especially AriΒ΄s. Love the way sheΒ΄s looking at Kirin, as well as the details on her face in side-view.

and this does look liek there should be a bigger picture here- perhaps a possible entry to this Months MGC?
That and I haven't noticed until now how muscular Kirins wings are. @_@ He must lift weights with them or something. Hehe, now that would be an interesting drawing to see!

Actually, there's several schools of thought on gargoyle wings. Dylan Blacquiere the doctor-in-training theorizes that the wings are a cartilegenous framework with a complicated cardiovascular systems. They're limp and flexible when at rest and engorged with blood when in motion, hence making them stiff and more areodynamics. (I'm paraphrasing -- his explanation is much, much more technical.)
The other thought is that they are muscular with separate skeletal sockets, muscles, ligaments, nerves, etc. This goes somewhat against scientific theory (also complicated explanation) but there you go. They have panels about this stuff at various Gatherings and frankly, I wouldn't mind someone printing up the transcripts.
Kirin is a big gargoyle so I see him with the muscled wings. Interesting thing -- he rarely capes his wings. He can do it but he finds it very uncomfortable.

You know, I havent seen a picture of Kirin with caped wings. That would be interesting to see, seeing as he does it so rarely.
