Description
This was one of the WINNING CHALLENGE ENTRIESEntry for Manipulate This ~ Group Challenge
The theme is: ONE STOCK CHALLENGE
I went with the option of adding "undescribed layers of textures" -- per the challenge description.
The assigned stock:
by chamberstock
Level 1 ~ but I tried to put "light source" to good use.
I converted the pose into more of a bow,
as if to an audience, real or imagined.
There are shadows of hearts, 2 dropping from her hand, a couple near the ballerina shoes, and a few others.
It takes full view and a close look to notice them. They are meant to be subliminal messages rather than something that pulls in your eye for the sake of the visual image.
AshHORROR ...spotlight -->[link] Check it out.
CaptainRedd-stock ...script --> [link] Beautiful writing.
Then, smothered with some of my experimental textures*
plus options provided by picnik and PhotoScape
{both are free photo editing programs}
*A few of my texture experiments
are in my stock account...
I am paintresseye
I thought this would be very helpful for learning purposes and comparison, to show the image before making suggested corrections:
<-- NOW/AFTER <-- BEFORE
The "before" one has a white line on her face
... and a few other small details of a similar nature that were distracting to me. Hope it helps others to see the before and after. With the nature of this art style, it is hard to decide which imperfections contribute to the effect,
and which ones distract too much.
I'm still wondering about the blob on her neck.

This is absolutely wonderful
It looks like a real photograph of an antique picture. You made the "paper" like 3D. What you did with the colours is perfect. I love this picture very much! It is a great inspiration and you make me wishing to learn this style.

Very much my pleasure! I'm happy you like it.
That script has so much depth and vintage flair.
Your modeling photos are great. I like all of your gallery. I sell my art. I've been a straight traditional artist until recently. Photo Manipulation is new for me. I have a new redbubble gallery now, where I am going to attempt to sell.
If I have your permission for these commercial uses, I would like to use more of your stock in the future. I didn't see anywhere that you say that is not allowed, but also no permission for that is stated.
I like the costumes, red hair, beautiful bright eyes, violin. Your watches, all your stuff is very inspiring to me. If you give permission, I am more than happy to send you high resolution copies thrrough email so you can print them out, if ever you should want something.
I am a stock provider too, so I do my best to give very good credit and make sure to link back anything I use.
In case you want to do this [maybe you already do this] ...I just put the art I sell on a flash drive to take to Office Max here. They make copies on cardstock very inexpensively, but that are acceptable for framing or cards.
I see that you have an art link in your signature. I'll be getting by to take a look. Right now I'm trying to wind down and get out of dA for the "night" [it is almost 6AM, I tend to get days/nights backwards]...
I'm happy I found your stock. And by the way, I don't see any problem with noise in your photography. But I guess my manip style is going to be very different from most people do. I might even get back to traditional, and you have a good face for that.
If you get a chance, have a look at my style. I have in the past done mostly watercolor faces with semi-realism and unusual texture for watercolors.

I have a stock account with a vintage/collectibles folder.
I'm also
Just in case you are interested. I was an antique dealer until I broke my back and couldn't move furniture anymore. [I can walk, just have a few limitations]
Thank you for catching my dancer and putting her in your group. I'm honored. I look forward to having some time to look at your gallery.

What a bummer about your back.
What was the most unusual and odd thing you ever had in the store.
If you interested would you like to maybe once a month or so do a little paragraph about your adventures in the antique world, I'd see about how to get it posted in the past renewed group....probably a blog.

You are welcome to have it now if you want. The challenge group doesn't ask that it be kept out of other groups.
And, thank you for your complimentary comments.

I like this! Thanks for doing something different. And in it's way, it's very beautiful.
I just see one little thing that is distracting. There's a white line going across her face. I know it's from a texture, and it can be blended out using the clone tool. Try it. If you can't make it disappear without flattening that area, don't worry about replacing this version.
Good luck!

Thank you. I saw that, and other "blemishes" that fell across her. I couldn't decide whether to go in and fix, or leave the marred appearance for part of the effect.
I'm with you, I will seen what I can do. Thanks for your encouragement. This is fun. ONLY, I have about a dozen things I did with this and I wasn't sure whether to put them in my gallery.
I was settled with entering this one for the challenge. I was wondering if other people end up with multiple possibilities...
