Description
Model: I forgot her nameLocation: Beijing, China
In Beijing, my family and I ate at a really cool restaurant. It was styled after a Qing dynasty environment. The restaurant was built from an old home from that era and the place is huge with beautiful landscaped gardens and rooms. Everywhere we walked, people bowed to us in the style of that era (made me feel like a king).
Anyways, the food was exquisit and the environment was just awesome. This was the waitress that served my table. My cousins were flipping through my photos and she was really curious to see them too. Since she was so interested, I asked her to pose for me for a few shots
Shot was made at iso 100, 50mm, f/1.8 (probably should have used 2.0). Shutter opened at 1/60.
Comments and suggestions always appreciated!

Hahahahahaha! Its just those earphones don't match those clothings.
When I was a kid, I knew there's something different about these clothes style from the one in the ancient eras. I'm Chinese but I wish I knew some Chinese history, even my mother knew the Manchus from the mainstream Chinese.

That is a cool headdress. Hey look, earphones. I'm assuming for orders and such things.
Anyway. I like the focus -- how you've used a shorter depth of field to achieve the blurry background. Composition is also well done.

I'm sorry
why don't you request some time off only for like... a week or maybe just a few days? It could be a great help to you.

I think this is an awesome shot and I love the colors but "Damn the headphones!" , they're not too bad but make no sense in the shot unless this were an Ipod around the world add I do understand spur of the moment though and it's still a great shot

Haha, the headphones were there for them to communicate with each other I guess. The place is HUGE and they took orders via wireless PDAs and all had headphones on.

Ahhh this is awesome! I wish I had the chance to visit that restaraunt - unfortunately we didn't spend too much time around Beijing (mainly our time was in the Xin Jiang province), but the outfits are simply incredible!
The people there seem so naturally curious and friendly about everything, so I can relate to this occurence!
It's a wonderful shot with all the vibrant colors - and the ear piece is a nice touch between parallels of the Qing and new dynasty.

It was fun being there! There was definitely a mix of old and new, since they took orders via wireless pdas and communicated with each other through those headphones. Fun place to be at... very cultural!

Umm... cost about 300 dollars to take out 9 people there, so not THAT expensive. It also depends on what you order though and if you have a private room. I think private rooms went for about $600 with a set menu. Some of the stuff on the menu can be up to 100's of dollars if you're not careful. Stuff like swallow's nest, a weird kind of seafood, etc.
