Description Another thing is I take pictures with my phone quite a lot. Once a month I visit a client in a part of London called Temple. I like to walk in London in the early morning when it is relatively quiet and my walk to this client takes me over the Millennium Bridge which is a pedestrian footbridge crossing the River Thames. When you look down river you are looking towards Tower Bridge, which you can see, and The Shard (tall building on the right). I regularly take a picture of this view through the year. It is best between November and February as it is darker. So this is the view from the bridge. The bridge surface is metal and like a grid. People throw their chewing gum down and it gets trodden into the grid. There is an artist who paints tiny pictures on this discarded chewing gum. If he painted the actual bridge he could be charged with defacing property but, because he only paints on the chewing gum, they can't do anything about it. The pictures are tiny. I have photographed a couple and will share them with you soon. It is like a big secret because nobody knows they are there.

Beautiful photo as always, though at the moment you probably wouldn't need to get up early to get these shots other than for the light. If anyone needed photos of a city without people in the shot now is the time to take them with the lock-down in place because the streets are eerily quiet.

A vibrant picture with a vibrant story! The gum part made me chuckle. I wonder if people put the gum there in hopes of giving the artist a bigger canvas, haha

Strange?

As it happens the artist you refer to was on a (repeat) TV program the other night, QI or Have I Got News For You.

Did a montage of Joan Bakewell's TV history during to show.

Really, this could be a painting Lawrence - it has that "feel" to it!!
