I believe this is done. I decided to leave the smoke out and I'm okay with that. The shirt wasn't what I wanted but I think it'll pass muster.p.s. I will upload the full drawing tomorrow.

I think you've already got so much detail going on in the face and hands, that if the dirt was worked on any more, it would look too busy. I really like the texture and the ambient quality of light you achieved on the skin.

Beautifully done! Amazing textures, and a depth that separates this from so many otherwise excellent pencil drawings I've seen. You may not like how the shirt turned out but I think it makes an excellent contrasting 'frame' which greatly enhances the sense of depth. I am new to (serious) pencil drawing. I am certainly no photographer but I have wondered about the differences between how the eye works versus a photo. By that, I mean with respect to natural focus being surrounded by blurred periphery versus a photo where everything is focused. I'd say that if anything, this principle makes this work 'feel' natural, not to mention aiding you in your desired focal points. Does any of that make sense? Sorry, I have no training, lol. Hope you don't mind if I ask you for tips in the future

oh thanks and for the beard it was not a pencil eraser but rather drawing around most of the bunches of hairs and some eraser work called Tuff Stuff. Works great if you keep it cut sharp.
