Description

I kinda managed to make this SFW 😁 so, nope, this is not the drawing that triggered my recent poll (thanks for voting btw, I appreciate it). I'm not even sure if these rules apply when certain anatomy deviates far enough.. which definitely applies to [Nan-Te'gah]. but it could be disturbing after all.

anyway, I like how this one turned out! I even added my "logo" in full glory. (yeah, I changed it again, bc I liked the old shapes better, but I kept the part with the name).

and here is random lore about the Nan-Te'gah based on questions from my mastodon :

Can they fly?

oh yes, basically they can fly. it's a bit like humans and running. most of us can run - for a few minutes, some can do more, some less. but it's physically exhausting. so, almost every Nan-Te'gah is able to glide through the air a bit. others can fly for a while, but only a few can perform complex maneuvers. in fact, those wings aren't easy to control. they are separate "bones" with skin in between, aligning them properly takes some practice.

How are they born?

they lay eggs. always one at a time. their ancestors built nests, but today they have technical aids. it's common to get an incubator that keeps the egg warm and can be watched at any time.

Does their world have trees?

they used to have something similar. or well, they still have them, but their planet has undergone an environmental change that makes living on the surface almost impossible. Nan-Te'gah live in huge floating cities in what humans call the stratosphere. now, one might think that cities in the sky would be perfect for flying. but no, they're not. at that altitude, going outside requires a pressure suit. or aircraft 🙂 flying naturally is only possible on other planets, space stations or behind the great city walls.

How big is an egg?

before I (try to) define the size of an egg, I should give you the average height of a Nan-Te'Gah 😄 bc they are quite tall. they can get up to ~3 meters. so, an egg is huge too. I imagine them a bit bigger than the egg of an ostrich, but they are elongated, looking a bit like a medicine capsule. the color is always white with a matte structure. touching them would feel like touching the average white painted wall.

damn, I wish I could draw those cities...
