"what do you mean - creepy? this is my happy face!"

these days, a friend gave me a challenge. I think she noticed that my creatures look rather stern or neutral most of the time. so she challenged me to make them happy 😊

and now comes the tricky part: many of my aliens don't show emotions like humans, but I've chosen some that actually do or have learned to. I'll post them in the next couple of days. let's call it a "happy-face-compilation" 🥰 .

the first one is from the species [Karyta]. they are from the deep oceans of [Yr'takia] and typically use very few facial expressions. they certainly don't smile. they don't even speak. which is a problem in most (intergalactic) endeavors, but that's a whole other story....
however, [Karyta] "speak" with small electrical impulses instead. moreover, they use bioluminescence - they literally glow with happiness. unfortunately, electric charges and unpredictable flashes of light are not received so well by other species. that's why [Karyta], leaving their homeland, had to adapt a bit. they use translators for speech and try to imitate emotions with facial expressions. some do it quite well, others might need a bit more practice...
