I had the trees cut down
outside the window ,
the two that used to do nothing
but gaze one another .
and somewhere a fire is lit,
and the logs in their ash powder
wonder if they ever really stood,
whether they were always alone.

that is the fear
that comes from losing you.
that is the fear
of forgetting what light is like
when you close your eyes "
