i love the matte-ish finish/filters you put on the piece. loks and feels very slick and snazzy, and brings out the textures of the rocks in a cool way.

Extremely cool! How do you achieve that kind of rock details? Are you using a texture or a brush?

I love the dusty shadows. Reminds me of Homeworld, which is always great.

Is that a lunar light projection, or a sunrise? anyways, the rock texturing is quite fantastic. The light/glare effect on the rocks on the bottom right is well done. As for the ship: I would have created a red flare light effect on the water below it (somewhere centered on the body of water). Or perhaps some red light on the tips of those bottom/right rocks. Unless you intended that the light source on the horizon was lowering contrast of the explosion's light effect on the piece. Beautiful work really!
