Well I may be a day late (by my time lol) but I finally got this finished! It took a little longer than I had planned (but isn't that always the way?) but I finally got there

Nothing extraordinary but a simple pic of our main 'SL' cast looking out on the sun setting at the end of the year (;
I dunno, a few things didn't turn out as I planned, and there are a few anatomy and perspective issues (especially with feet, eek they're evil to draw from a back view lol) but over all I'm pretty satisfied how this one turned out I went for a simple background and it worked out (for once!!!).

And as for the characters, we have (from left to right)... Claude, Christian, Thibault, Hickson, Stephane, Selene, Bertrand, Beatrice, Gabriele, Marielle, Phillipe, Lisette, Clarice, Tristan and Theodore.
A couple of the names had been changed given the fact that we are aiming to be as period friendly and accurate as possible This is the last time it should happen!

Anyhoo, I hope everyone has a happy and great new year!!!!

OK so I have been such an idiot in neglecting this picture! Not just because of MS, but for other reasons-- well no more! Time to return to people who are open to and accepting of critique and feedback <333333 I've been such an ass for not commenting on something that obviously took a long time to do, so here goes!

First of all, I REALLY love the group shot. Everyone looks so cohesive and hanging out in their respective groups-- you really have a knack for determining who would be with whom and even their postures! Hickson, Theodore, and Steph would definitely be more relaxed in their stances (something we both need to work on is imperfect posture XD), whereas those upper-class have perfect, upright poise! The fact that you even included the red heels on the nobility (Bert and Phil? would have them too? I think? Philippe might be a Signeur along with Bertrand so he could wear the red heels )

I LOVE how we can tell who everyone is, even from behind! <333333 Maybe we need to distinguish Theodore from Hickson a bit more and give him a jacket XD

Overall, you did a REALLY good job on the anatomy. Feet are difficult to draw from behind, and it's hard to get that exaggerated Disney-ish style while still maintaining a good knowledge of body structure. I've always been jealous of how effortlessly you can draw people and body segments from multiple angles. The only major anatomy critique I have to offer is on the heights-- the women's legs look extremely long in relation to the size of their heads, even when concealed by the skirts. Human women are generally 7 1/2 heads tall, and legs account for three of those heads. The waist should be defined around 2 heads down from the neck. Also, (I hate saying this as I know we don't have much experience with different body types, just skinnies like Phil XDD) Claude looks kind of like a stiff robot. Maybe widen his shoulders, give him a more rotund body, and remember that his arms curve with the body tissue!

The colouring looks TERRIFIC. Love the hues of the sunset, and the shadows are distinct yet gentle enough that they don't detract from the tender mood. They are very consistent with the light source which is a difficult feat, and there is a sense of harmony amongst the human characters <3333333 It'd be cool to see more clouds in the sky, or clouds with more definitive borders at least. Buuut... I LOVE THE STARS <3333333 Also the grass has a really cool rim-light effect, but the terrain looks a bit flat. It's hard to draw in all of those extra grass blades and rocks and such, but varying the shades would mimic that effect well so you don't have to draw in every single blade.

Anyhoo, LOOKS AWESOME <33333333 A PERFECT New Year's pic for our babies and a great way to look forward to the unknown in the year to come <33333333 BEAUTIFUL WORK MY MATHTER!!!! LOVE THIIIIIS AND YOUUUU <333333333333333333333333

Yaaaaay! You know I always appreciate your comments and critiques 8D
And it’s okay! There’s no time frame you need comment on! Things get in the way, and then we just plain forget! That’s alright! We’re only human (;

Haha I really wasn’t sure where to put them all. I just started with Hick and Steph and worked my way around them. I think I should have put Theo next to Steph though XD! And you’re right, posture is something we should work on! It’s incredibly hard doing anything from behind, but we all need to learn sooner or later.
Omg you’re right! I should have put the red heels on Bert and Phil! Darn it! Well, next time I will know. Live n learn XD

Haha you’re absolutely right! The only way we can really tell Hickson and Theodore apart is Theo’s hair tied back. We may need to find some more men’s clothes that stand out a little more. But I know that’s hard for the lower class!

Oh the feet killed it! Believe me, I know that XD
You’re right about the heights! As I look at it now, the women look incredible stretched (Sel especially!) I will definitely remember those terms.
Claude was hard, and you’re right- he does look robotic. I could never get that fella to work right! More weighty characters need more practice.

I’m glad the colouring worked out (overlays saved my butt there lol).
You’re right about the terrain though. I tried to add a few more details here and there, but it never quite worked out. I went with what looked best at the time! I need your help with BG’s that’s for sure (;

THANKYOUUUU I’m glad you like it 8DDD <3333333333333333
THANKYOU FOR A WONDERFUL COMMENT AND CONSTRUCTIVE CRIT! LOVIN MA PETSYYYY AND ALL HER HELP <333333333333

Late = really late.

This is such a great idea. And what skill it takes to do all these characters from the back!
Love the colours and the composition of them all gathered here.

I saw you have a character named Marielle too! That is so cool!

That's alright! I appreciate the fact you comment (:

I've always wanted to try and do a full picture of everyone from behind, seemed like a fun challenge c;

Yes we do! Marielle is Selene's younger sister (;

Thank youuuu

Thanks so much for the kind words 8D
Omg I understand what it's like trying to find some original characters or stories that are 18th Century period friendly (;
I can assure you that both 'J' and I (we share this account c: ) always try to be as accurate as possible to 1725-1726 France in our story. We always try to show it in our art too!
And I'm so happy you like the picture 8D It was actually meant to be something quick, but it wasn't as quick as I had intended (; but isn't that always the way with art lol.

Thanks again

Are you planning on publishing it? XD I need to get my hands on a copy!!!!!!!!! (Currently I'm writing a musical that takes place in the 1700s as well, so I'm more or less in the same dilemma in terms of research. XD) I didn't know this account was a collaboration effort and that you're sharing it with a person called "J". That's so DARN COOL. Keep me up to date on what you two come up with. Haha. XD
