Time: 60hrsTools: HB-9B & charcoal & a lot of erasing on rough paper
-> Photoshop to fix quality that got lost while scanning and further add some highlights in the bg.

Also, don't hesitate to take photographs of yourself just to get the lightning correct

thanks I have been practicing a bit, I just finished one of stein from soul eater. I'm not thrilled with the arm and hand but I thought it turned out half way decent
and thanks for the advice! I need lots of it if i wanna go into graphic design

Definately!
Also, you should consider that the pros do this kind of stuff up to 16 hours a day.
When I'm in school I draw like 4 hours and on holidays about 8 hours per day. But this is just a most recent habit. In the past I unfortunately tended to be pretty lazy...that cost me so much time...
