Eh. I’ve spent 48 hours lighting fires and tossing trees like Bigfoot himself. I always wondered if Bigfoot was Scottish . Tehachapi pass is a major rail pass through the southern end of the sierras into Bakersfield. That would be the rail bed in the pic but I didn’t paint the tracks. I hear the journey itself is a bit hair raising. You have to go in a 360 degree loop . You go up and down a lot. Anyways. What tartan would Bigfoot wear that’s the real question.
Or we could go with socks . Scottish socks are pointedly fun. With the little flag thingey and the surprise inside.
I gotta go toss more trees now. Rain is coming.

lots of standard ones, some I've made myself, some that have been made by other artists. I like to use lots of brushes.

That stretch of track was another marvel, 28 miles of track, 18 tunnels and 10 bridges in 2 years. With all that work the loop might have been time saver rather than doing extensive regrading.
Nice painting, there's a bit of Grant Wood / Thomas Hart Benton creeping into this one with the simplicity of landscape.

And not to mention that earthquake that shook all the rails under the walls that I linked photos to a few weeks ago...there's been a lot of work put into that wind tunnel of a pass. Ah I thought you might notice the softer rolling landscape, thank you for introducing me(or at least putting a name to) these two excellent artists. I'll happily claim influence.
