A really clever shot! The deep blue hue of the sky as well as its reflection below make the view seem almost ethereal (the contrast between the snow-capped mountain and the sky is certainly lovely). The feeling induced by the photo is rather sublime indeed.

It was in the afternoon. The topography in the area provided the shaded areas directly in the foreground and again in the distance. There were also some clouds providing shade and also letting some light through as you can see on the trees in the middle of the frame. The blue sky was adjusted in Elements 7 giving it the deeper richer color against the contrast of the white snow.Β This was a fun shot to put together. Mount Adams is one of the more beautiful sights in the area. The drive to Trout Lake from the west weaves through the Columbia Gorge, where Mount Hood in Oregon will also reveal itself and it's beauty.
