And love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Most people do the same routine every day, drive the same routes to work, shopping, eat similar meals, have the same discussions and inner thoughts, satisfying addictions, and generally don’t realize how much time is passing by without meaningful progress.
I see them as loops, unconscious cycles that repeat all our life until we became aware of them and decide to break them, usually into an evolutionary spiral, yet some see the suicide as the only way out. It might end into a loop with higher energy, or we might not have enough energy to sustain it, and return to the old loop, trying to quit an addiction might be a good example.
All out biological processes are cyclical, most of them are governed by hormones and parts of the brain that we better not be touch our light of consciousness, would be quite tragic to forget a few heartbeats. Others, like respiration are semi-autonomous, and being aware of it can be a tool to be one step ahead of the compulsive thinking addiction that starts unconscious, most thoughts, specially the negative ones are as a reaction to deny the present moment. We create in out mind simulations with different situations that can change the situation we are in, mind behaves most of the time as a defense mechanism. In simulations we form an ego, an idea of what we are that we identify with, and we fight with our shadow projections. In this way each thought that forms our ego can be seen as an reincarnation, a small dramatic episode on our inner movie.
Very interesting is the sexual part of the loop, when the rhythmic movements reduce the reality to loops Β of intense sensations that last fractions of a second, leading to a trance state in which you lose yourself and which may be the beginning of a new life cycle, and makes parents enter into a very stable loop with immense conditioning and responsibilities that are carefully transmitted to the new one.
Mental loops are conditioned by instincts and social conditioning. Only awareness can change something in out life, we might see it as the divine spark in us, that give us the possibility to create a new inner universe with the help of the word, that can be seen as an inner programming, a mark to guide us in the evolutionary path. Living in sin means missing the mark, living in an oblivious loop of instinct, and having a meaningless existence can be one of the saddest revelations.

And being election year in US, I should dedicate this painting to the poor ones, the ones that cannot escape poverty thanks to a corrupt system brought by sociopath billionaires. Is hard to imagine that the three richest people in the world possess more financial assets than the lowest 48 nations combined...

I disagree with your argument in the description.
Just because we repeat the same actions per day or week, does not mean that each task we perform is identical to the previous or next.
We can only experience now, and every period of time is unique and imperfect.

Impact

At first glance, the image draws the viewer in and captivates with mystery.
The title provides a song reference and the description elaborates on it. It is impactful, carries weight provides a cunning insight into the mundane, the repetitive lifestyle people make a habit of.

The mark-making is sharp and clear. I especially like the grooves in the foreground. How they pull and prompt the viewer to follow them up and past the ox with the farmer towards the sun. It is sort of like a runway for the mind to take off from to explore more of the painting. There is also a visual narrative from the farmer carving this line, that can be associated with the work put into making a record, to music.
The title solidifies this with the song being about a man and his struggles with life. From the riches of a king to the love of a woman, to loneliness, and the trails in religion. If one knows the song and imagine it playing while looking at the work, it gives off a sombre and grounding atmosphere.

That said, good work deserves good critic.
I looked to this image for anything I would find a fault.
An honest and personal opinion, the clouds are a bit muddy. They are beautiful and can be improved upon. From what I see, it is assumed you were going for a misty or cloudy day where the sun is dulled and the air seems heavy. Clouds have a funny way of bleeding into each other yet at times retain a sharp silver lining.
My suggestion to you is to look up clouds in art and reality in your free time and at your leisure. See how does one make cloudscapes that not only can enhance the mood of a setting but deliver and equally strong narrative.

Your work is inspiring, amazing and worth a spot in your portfolio and hopefully open doors for you. There are a lot of artists in the world yet you showed how unique your view of it is.
Keep up the fine work and I look forward to seeing what more you have in store for the future.

The record is such a wonderful metaphor for life in relation to your description. Each revolution (year) we get closer to the center (the end), and each one seems to go by faster with less chance to make those changes (even though it doesn't). So many people who have never felt hunger, or struggle, fail to comprehend why "they" (poor people) can't or won't "get on the right track". I'm sick of "too big to fail", too wealthy to be accountable, or too poor to matter. Millennials out number the Boomers. That's an enormous power once it's realized. I hope to be around long enough to hear a different tune.

Very rarely do i see a picture that actually has me in tears.... Like genuinely crying..... but this...
This just has me flooding.

I don't even know why.... but it reminds me of my mother.....

and that is fucking powerful.
(excuse my severe language)

Thank you borda..... thank you very very much.

Thought provocation at its finest, but the painting filled me with sadness and yet there seems hope on the horizon!

I always liked John Cale's version. Sounded more broken than Cohen's.
