Oil on wood panel, 30x40cm, quite a small one for such complexity.In psychology, the flow is a mental state in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of activity. Is a complete absorption in what one does, resulting in one's loss of space and time.

I absolutely love this piece. It is simply amazing. The concept is simply stunning. The flow of the liquid music is wonderful. You can almost hear it as it drips in some places and flows in other. The chaotic cascade of it over the edge of the cliff is particularly nice. The colors lead the viewer to wonder if the monks are well executed sculptures or if the lighting in the cavern has simply drained them to grey tones? Are they forever stationary, carved from lifeless stone or simply caught in mid-stride by the artists as they go about their tasks?
The horns above them seem to slowly Ooompa deep notes from their tuba like bells which drain downward to the waiting monks.
I love this piece. Thank you fo sharing it. It made my monday morning so much better

The unobtrusive browns and greys make the golden glow of the flowing music stand out that much more for it. The light, which is found in abundance in the world above and beyond, only reaches the realm of the monks in trickles and pitter-patters. They get a "taste" or an "idea" of it, but the full immersive experience of it - what it means and all it encompasses - is still slightly out of reach and maybe, only reserved for those that move on to the other realm after death... But still, beauty and light touches even those dark places where the monks dwell. They just have to take notice and capture it (which they do).

What a wonderful painting! The contrast between the dull browns and the vivid heavenly gold along with the spiritual theme gives it the awe-inspiring feel of a medieval illuminated manuscript. It reminds me of the medieval Irish tales of spiritual journeys across the sea, where clerics like the Abbot Brendan travel with their monks to fabulous islands where they have all sorts of fantastic experiences on the their way to the Earthly Paradise.
