Thanks! This place exists only in my imagination, it`s done in Vue, a software for realistic 3d environments

This is absolutely stunning! I've messed around with Vue before and I can't imagine how long it took to put together this scene. So much detail. Love it!

This is so beautiful! I wish I could get my renders to come out so clear. They're always too pixelated...

Both my wife and I love this a lot. Very crisp and realistic so much I did think it was a photo at first. Top work Aron.

Thanks my friend!
Vue renders tend to be a bit unsharp, even if you render in highres. This is rendered in 400pix, crisp settings and was still a bit unsharp. I always sharpen my renders in post a bit. Light is normal standard spectral. I still not like the photometric lighting that much and you have to tweak all materilas otherwise they loose a lot of "depth". I do a lot of my renders still with standard spectral.

I use User Settings for my finals based on www.dreahorvath.eu/faster-rendβ¦Β but never that high in pixel terms. I would love to know what render settings you use and Light and AtmoΒ set up. I only have Vue 10 Esprit so I wouldn't know about the new lighting but sure would love to try it one day.

I have also started with these settings but wanted better quality. Scenes with a lot of small details benefit much from a higher resolution. If you take a look at the grass stalks at the right side of the pic. Notice that they have no perfect AA even that I have rendered it in 4000pix. If I would have rendered the pic in lower res this part would be very grainy, even with the highest AA settings possible (64rays with complete)!!
Andrea suggests if I remember correctly high Quality boost in Sky,Fog, Haze tab and Lighting tab.
I tend to use negative values for both tabs in my newer renders, to avoid endless rendertimes. Together with high AA settings like 12/36 at 91%Β and highres you get some nice renders. But these settings are only without clouds or heavy atmospherics. I tend to avoid clouds and add them sometimes in post. This render took only 1.5 h to render but I was surprised by myself, normally the rendertimes are about 6-9h, longest so far was 25h. But I try to make them about 8h, so called overnight renders

Thanks Aron for the little insight. I think I now have a handle on getting realistic light in Vue. For me like yourself getting a crisp render is a pain.

Sorry to interrupt... what is 400pix and 12/36 at 91%? Most of my renders end up being way too long (>15 hours). This one would probably be much-MUCH longer than 1.5 hours if I rendered it. And I never get the crisp quality of this... I must be doing something horribly wrong!

AronKamo In reply to Kivakwolf [2015-03-06 22:04:43 +0000 UTC]
No prob!
4000pix is the resolution, pix means pixels. the 12/36 is the amount of antialiasing rays and 91% is the amount of the quality slider. I posted a pic with the rendersettings of this artwork, so you can see all the settings. If you have other questions don`t hesitate and ask
