I enjoyed it the same as any other day. I probably should explain my reasoning in more detail...The thing is, I know that Jesus never celebrated his birthday - and his birthday was far more important than mine - and none of the early Christians or the Israelites celebrated birthdays either. The Bible records only two birthdays, one of which John the Baptizer was beheaded as the gift. The second was the birthday of the King of Egypt, who also had someone beheaded incidentally. Originally birthdays were a way to worship the nobles as gods, and commoners never celebrate their own birthdays. Over time it became a popular idea for everyone. Gift giving was part of the religious aspect of it as well.
Because of this I would feel uncomfortable celebrating birthdays...Does that make sense?
