That's not the Dragonfly King, tho. It's the Dark Riders' leader from the Elemental plane.
The art quality is obvious, however.

Absolutely brilliant art, also one of my favourite levels, but the earth sword is the most powerful weapon to use on the plain of air, he's going to have a little bit of trouble with the hook.

yeah that sword... this is the second boss the dragonfly king had a gigantic sword and a small sheild i still think this is awesome anyway.
i always found this boss to be a pain to kill you sort of had to joust with him and you almost always got hit

what I absolutely love about this piece is how hopeless it makes me feel. I don't know what i would do as that man on the cliff and that monster is giant, scary, and has the ability to fly.
and in such a horrific almost obsure setting like this, i think my vocabulary would be reduced to "sh#t" and "f*ck".
so if that's what the game was going for, good job on representing. if not, great job on representing

Welcome to Chakan's neverending life. He lost a bet with Death, and as a result can't die until every monster ever is dead. And as long as he's alive, he experiences all the pain caused by said monsters every night. Ironically, he could have accomplished his task much more easily if Death hadn't also taken like 99% of his power.
It was a short comic series as well as a Sega game
