"No, that wouldn't work....what about? Nah, that's too obvious....maybe....no no, that's too overused...UUGH."

Rune slumped at her desk, demotivated. Splatoween began tomorrow, and she was trying to come up with a costume to wear for it...and not only that, but she had to make one that she could use to exact her revenge on Maria, too! This was no easy task, as she was still stuck on drafting the outfit. She sighed as she leaned her head back.

"Ah don't get it...Ah'd have a sweet idea by now, but...they just ain' comin'..."

It was safe to say Maria messing with her Mega Banette suit also messed with her mentality. She sighed and looked out her cabin's window, having an idea.

"Maybe some fresh air could do me some good..."

Grabbing a poofy coat/dress, she waltzed outside, and down into Splatropolis proper. Splatoween decorations could be seen for as far as the eye could see - ghost lights being hung between lampposts, inflatable creatures made to look spooky, and even holographic art of generic Splatoween creatures, like werwolves, zombies, and skeletons.

"Skeletons...Oh right! Almost forgot!"

Realizing something, she took off through the streets of Splatropolis, well, as fast as a person in a padded poofy gown can go. She had forgotten to sign up for a Splatfest team! She already knew she was going on Team Skeleton, but the thought of actually signing up slipped her mind, time and time again...

She finally arrived at Splatropolis Bay - the hub area and hot spot for every Cephalopod wanting to get their tentacles on fresh gear, and participate in Turf Wars, Anarchy battles, Challenges, and more! Located near Pufferfish port, and near Cat Claw Stadium(It's a place for C.A.T.S fights, look it up), the place was very popular and always bustling with activity!

Looking around, Rune spotted a familiar stand - the place where she could sign up for a Splatfest team! She came over, to the Jelly manning the stand.

"Hey...phew...Ah'm signin' up for Team Skeleton..."

"Bloop! Bloop?" (Good choice? One thing - Are you sure you want to?)

"Yeah...phew.."

The Jelly writes something down, while similtaneously handing Rune an orange splatfest tee.

"Bloop!" (Here you go! Enjoy!)

"Thanks..."

She takes it, putting it into one of her dress's large pockets. She decided while she was down here, she thought to maybe look around, perhaps to gain some inspiration.

Some time of exploring later, something very, very interesting caught her eye. She went into a nearby department store, selling all sorts of Splatoween decor, and lots, and lots, of pumpkins. These, of all things, weren't what caught her eye. She went over to an inflatable decoration, resembling a stack of Jack-O-Lanterns! Something about it...something about the way it looked, resonated with her...And an idea rooted itself in her mind, as she reached up to feel her hair bun...

"That's it...THAT'S IT!"

Excited and motivated, she ran out of the store to the confusion of a couple Octolings.

"What was that?"

"I dunno...the new world just got a whole lot weirder..."

Rune quickly arrived back at her cabin, shed her poofy gown/coat, and got to work, with creativity and motivation flowing though her veins once more...

And because of this, she was able to get her new costume done in just a few hours! It was quite a sight when put on - she had dyed her hair orange, and painted a Jack-O-Lantern face on her hair bun, and a plush pumpkin top on it all!

It only got even more interesting from there, as she had also donned a homemade pumpkin plush suit, and a pair of very, VERY poofy Jack-O-Lantern slippers. Rune, satisfied with her work, strutted out of her room to show it off in Turf War...it's ripcord ring dangling behind her...
