Thank you for the Llama and watch...I've yet to figure out the significance of the Llamas (and no one explains) but I do like llamas and have a little herd of them now.
I've always struggled to get to grips with poetry...maybe I'm to much of a pragmatist, I find myself wondering why the poet doesn't just say what they mean so I can understand...or maybe I've just read to much C.R.A.P.
I enjoyed your little 6 word stories though...love the way your mind works!

Aww, thanks so much! I'm thrilled that you checked my work out; that's greatly appreciated. Poetry is certainly not everyone's cup of tea...and I'm perfectly OK with that. Most people who are really into it were lucky (or unlucky!) enough to have had a wonderful English teacher whose passion for it was enough to get them interested in it. It does take a big investment of time from the reader. That's one of the great advantages of the six word stories...pretty much no investment required
The llamas are just a cute way of saying, "hey, I saw some of your work and I think it's great...here's a small token of appreciation." Nothing more significant than that...and I do like you work very much.

At school we studied Coleridge: 'In Xanadu did Kubla Kahn a stately pleasure dome decree....' and thats all that stuck...lol...sorry!
We also did The Rime of the Ancient Mariner...which I remember quite enjoying some of...but its loooong! and then there was A Pot of Basil?...where a wife keeps her husbands head in a pot of basil (odd choice I thought...the hiding place not the choice of poem)...but that one wasn't curriculum, just a 'for fun' one and although the subject matter appealed (I love horror and gruesome stuff) I'm ashamed to admit I kinda skipped most of it!!
So that's the sum total of Tam and poetry...sounds like I DO need to invest some more time in it doesn't it? Β

I love that line from Coleridge; that's always stuck with me, too! The Pot of Basil one sounds like great fun. I'll have to look that one up. If you're going to lose your head, you might as well have it stored with some great smelling spice

After writing this I started to think about 'A Pot of Basil' and looked it up. It's called: 'Isabella or A Pot of Basil' and is by Keats. I should maybe get it for my Kindle...it might get me into poetry!

Keats is one of the best there is...you can't go wrong with him!

"...you can't go wrong with him!" which basically means if I don't like him I'm a lost causeΒ when it comes to poetry...lol
