Description This is a helmet found in England that dates to the early medieval ages. Sorry for the vagueness but i've forgotten what the caption said aboot it (hence the title).

So heres my archaeological view. The style resembles that of the Sutton Hoo helemt (though a more simple style) so that would suggest it is an Anglo-Saxon helmet. The helmet itself looks expensive so most likely a lord or a great warrior would have worn it.

That is what's generally described as the Coppergate Helmet, sometimes the York, being as that's where it was discovered.

I also just realized the person above me posted a link which gives said information. Ah well.

Brilliant thanks very much for that. I kept thinking of it as a medieval Corinthian style

no problem. I have been hugely intrested in Medival historical items for a very long time and runes have always intrested me profoundly.

My flatmate studies medieval archaeology, especially Vikings but i do more colonial studies. Medieval history though is really cool, i have to agree
